Check it's parallel

  1. Check the blind hangs parallel with the reveal. You want a 15 to 20mm gap down each side so the fabric doesn't catch the side tracks.
  2. The bottom bar should sit parallel with the window sill too.
  3. If it's a long way out and you've got room, take the blind out and drop a bracket on either side to straighten it.

How much side gap should there be?

About 15 to 20mm each side, so the blind clears the side tracks. Getting it parallel matters more than the exact number.
