  1. The bottom bar should be slightly rattly — it's gravity that brings the blind down, so it needs to drop freely.
  2. A circlip tool is the handiest way to ease the side tracks open a touch. Don't go crazy — just enough for a little rattle. Do both sides.
Recommended troubleshootingCommon questions for this step

The blind won't come all the way down.

Usually a pinched side track — ease it open with a circlip tool. Sometimes the side tracks are too long and hit the roll behind the pelmet; if so, take the bottom cap off and trim the side track back.

If you hit a snag

Bottom bar gets stuck partway down.

Ease the side tracks open a little with a circlip tool. If it's still catching, check the side tracks aren't too long and hitting the roll behind the pelmet — trim if needed.
