Common fabric questions
Six things people ask about fabrics and finishes.
- The motorised blackout system uses one of two named blockout fabric options — DUO Blockout and LeReve Blockout. Both stop light passing through the fabric area. Differences come down to texture, weight and colour range — the configurator shows current availability.
- The fabrics are blockout — they stop light through the fabric area. The full system blackout (no edge light) comes from combining the fabric with side tracks, pelmet and a sealed bottom rail. That's why the motorised blackout product is described as a system, not just a fabric.
- Frame components (side tracks, pelmet, bottom rail) are powder-coated in a standard palette covering common interior tones — typically a white, an off-white, a charcoal or black, and sometimes mid-tones. Exact current names and finishes are confirmed in the configurator or at quote.
- Yes — particularly worth doing if exact colour matters for matching joinery or paint. Contact head office on 08 8359 5935 to request samples, or book a free measure and the team brings samples to the visit.
- The front blind on the Dual Blind System is a sheer or light-filter fabric — not blockout. It pairs with the rear blackout blind. The configurator shows the available front/rear pairings.
- Swatch images on a screen aren't a perfect colour match to the physical fabric. Monitor calibration and light conditions both shift the rendering. If exact colour matters — matching paint, joinery or existing window treatments — request a physical sample before ordering DIY, or confirm at the free measure visit.
