Room solutions
Built for the rooms where light matters most.
Different rooms, different light problems. Same complete blackout system, tuned to the way you actually use the space.

By room
Find the room you're solving for.
Each room page covers the specific light problem, the right MAB setup for it, and how DIY or install compares for that space.

Sunrise wakes you up before your alarm and streetlights show around the frame at night.

Daytime naps need real darkness — and you need a child-safe cordless system around it.

Screen glare and ambient light kill the picture. You need a sealed room, not a dim one.

City lights, signage and balconies push light through every gap a standard blind leaves.

Afternoon glare on the TV, hot western sun, and a room that loses its evening feel.

Wide openings, long drops and tracks that most blackout blinds aren't built for.

Frosted glass isn't private once the light's on. Real privacy, plus full darkness when you want it.
Why a system, not just a blind
MAB vs a standard roller blind.
Both are blinds. Only one is built around the whole window — side tracks, pelmet, bottom rail.

Before you pick a room
Common room questions.
- Pick whichever room most closely matches the problem you're solving. The bedroom page is the standard reference — most other rooms reuse the same four-edge seal and motorised system. Nursery and shift-worker pages cover the specific safety and recovery-sleep considerations for those rooms. Theatre, sliding door and apartment pages cover the room-specific quirks (projector contrast, oversized openings, body-corp constraints). If you have more than one room in scope, start with the room where light is the biggest problem and the others usually follow.
- Yes, the underlying system is the same — motorised roller blind, side tracks, top pelmet, sealed bottom rail and a cordless rechargeable motor. What changes room to room is the spec: dual-blind option for living rooms and apartments, custom widths for sliding doors, suitability flagging for bathrooms, and SmartHub routines for whole-home setups. The four-edge seal mechanism doesn't change.
- The blind itself is the same. Cordless motorised operation is the standard build across every room — it isn't an upgrade you pay extra for. The nursery page just walks through the system from a child-safety angle: no exposed cords or chains anywhere on the blind, quiet motor for mid-nap adjustment, sealed edges so daytime naps are properly dark. A bedroom blind installed for an adult is built the same way.
- Most rooms not listed are still doable — studies, home offices, hallways, kids' bedrooms, granny flats. The eight pages here cover the rooms we see most often. If your room isn't on the list, send through what you're solving for during the suitability check and we'll talk through which setup suits.
- Most rooms are fine. The main constraints are window type, reveal depth and how the room is used. Bathrooms are a 'sometimes yes, sometimes no' — moisture and ventilation matter. Sliding doors need a custom measure before quoting. Skylights, arched windows and very oversized openings are case-by-case. We'd rather flag a fit problem at the suitability stage than at install.
- Sliding doors and oversized openings are covered on the sliding-door room page — custom widths up to 3000mm, and we measure every door before quoting. Bay windows, arched windows and skylights aren't a one-page answer because they vary so much. Send photos at the suitability check and we'll tell you straight what's realistic.
